The Heads of BRICS Space Agencies met in Moscow on 23 May.
Russia initiated the creation of an international system for ensuring security in space. This project takes on increasing importance as the number of satellites and amount of space debris continue to grow. There is a plan to share data on man-made and natural processes in space: the activity of the Sun, galactic radiation, and the trajectory of dangerous asteroids and other space objects.
The meeting participants also discussed the possibility of establishing a BRICS Space Council.
The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS Chairship.
