3rd International Youth Volunteer Conference ‘BRICS To You’ Scheduled for 15 February
The 3rd International Youth Volunteer Conference ‘BRICS To You’ is scheduled to take place online on 15 February. The event is organized by the Russia–BRICS Project Office for International Youth Cooperation with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS Chairship.
The annual conference seeks to introduce to the youth of BRICS member countries the opportunities for volunteering in order to improve the quality of international events and raise awareness about the future projects planned for BRICS countries.
Training of competent volunteers shall raise the overall level and effectiveness of such activities in BRICS, facilitate joint projects, and ptomote volunteering in general.
The participants will also get a chance to suggest their own international volunteer project initiatives and discuss them with their peers from other countries.
“In the 21st century volunteering is a key to engage with community. The volunteer movement is an incredibly important way for us to influence modern social development. Volunteer service shapes our personalities and provides us with new experience and knowledge. By volunteering, we create an opportunity for our country to develop and to tackle social problems. Current global tendencies are creating even better prospects for expanding the volunteer movement,” Deputy Head of the Russia–BRICS Youth Project Office and Deputy Director and Head of the International Office of the Fund of Creative Technologies in Ulyanovsk Diana Kovela said.
2022 and 2023 saw more than 170 active and engaged young people from 20 BRICS+ countries improve their volunteer skills and their understanding of what defines BRICS culture. The BRICS Volunteer Code was adopted unanimously at the 2022 Conference.
