BRICS Academic Forum’s programme is published

The BRICS Academic Forum is an annual conference of the BRICS Think Tank Council on the expert track. Leading experts from the Global Majority countries are invited to the event. The Forum will be held on 22-24 May in Moscow under the motto “BRICS: New Figures on the Global Chessboard”. It will bring together more than 200 representatives of the BRICS expert and academic community.

Among the honored guests of this year’s Forum are Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Russia BRICS Sherpa, Nikita Anisimov, Rector of HSE University, and Vyacheslav Nikonov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma, Chairman of the Board od the National Committee on BRICS Research. During the Forum, the participants will exchange ideas, discuss approaches to solving current issues and will find out ways to work together in the fields of global governance, international security and stability, trade and economic cooperation, food and energy security, science and education, high technology and innovation, investment, financial systems, etc.

A regular meeting of the BRICS Think Tank Council (BTTC) will also take place during the Forum.

As a result of the BRICS Academic Forum, the recommendations will be worked out and passed on to the BRICS leaders for the 16th BRICS Summit scheduled to be held in Kazan on 22-24 October.

The Academic Forum is included in the official calendar of Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024. The event is organized by the BRICS Expert Council – Russia, which was created at HSE University. The Council is responsible for informational, analytical, and expert support for Russia's BRICS Chairship in 2024. It also carries out expert analysis and research on the relevant topics of political, socio-economic, and humanitarian cooperation in the association. The Head of the BRICS Expert Council–Russia is HSE Vice Rector Victoria Panova. TV BRICS is the international media partner.
