Technological Innovations in Creative Industries: Eastern Economic Forum Hosts First BRICS Creative Innovation Forum
The Innosocium Foundation, the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation, held the unique BRICS Creative Innovation Forum for the first time on 3 September 2024 as part of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2024. Nine sessions were held to discuss means to develop a human-based approach to innovation that combines consumer demand, technological capabilities, and the needs of business. In light of Russia’s BRICS Chairship, the Forum programme was mainly focused on how to thoroughly intensify interaction with BRICS countries in culture and art. Total views of the session broadcasts exceeded 600,000.
The BRICS Creative Innovation Forum focused on advanced technologies and innovations in creative entrepreneurship and their importance for the creative economy of the future. Given the growing interest in brands that represent individual national features, BRICS countries, which have enormous cultural potential, aim to use innovative approaches to expand their markets and stimulate economic growth. The participants discussed how to create conditions for the introduction of technologies and growth in the creative economy, all while preserving each country’s national cultural identity.
The keystone event of the Forum was the plenary session ‘New Russian Cultural Code: The Art of Preserving, Rethinking, and Transforming’. The sessions included discussions on some of the most popular themes in the creative industries: ‘Digital Reboot: A New Reality for Cultural Projects’, ‘Clusters of the Future: How Will Creative Spaces and Their Residents Change in the Next Five Years?’, ‘From Tradition to Innovation: Digitalization of Languages, Ethnocultural Heritage, and Media’, ‘Games Are No Joke. Development of the Far East Game Industry’, ‘Music of the Future: How Technologies Are Changing the Musical Landscape’, ‘The Most Important Arts: Cinema and Animation in The Context of Technology’, ‘Creative Development of the Regions: From Industries to the Creative Economy’, and ‘Achieving Self-Sufficiency. How To Make a Creative Business Profitable’.
“Constant research into innovative ideas and technological innovations in creative industries should not only be a driving force for economic development and social progress, but also a source of aesthetic and cultural value for the products that are being produced by this advanced sector of the economy. Sustainable development is the most important goal and objective of innovation. Discussions focused on the best practices and strategies that will help entrepreneurs confidently navigate the creative industries in order to achieve new heights in the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of their business results,” Adviser to the Russian President and Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
