Heads of BRICS National Standardization Bodies to Meet in Moscow
The Russian Energy Week International Forum will welcome the heads of BRICS national standardization bodies to Moscow on 27 September for their first meeting as part of Russia’s BRICS chairship. The participants will discuss their cooperation and the prospects of the national bodies joint work in the technological, industrial, and economic spheres within BRICS. Expert discussions have also been planned to tackle a wide range of issues related to standardization.
Some of the topics planned for discussion include:
- sharing best practices for introducing green standards to construction and digital standardization;
- approaches taken from healthcare and agriculture for evaluating the conformity and standardization of artificial intelligence with a presentation of the first results of collaboration on the development of unified standardization documents for Russia and India to establish testing requirements for the use of individual AI technologies;
- experience implementing a unique methodology for evaluating commercial companies and ranking them for their reliability and social and environmental responsibility vis-a-vis sustainable development goals. The methodology in question facilitates evaluation of contributions to national development goals and the identification of ‘responsible businesses’ deserving of government support;
- new areas of standardization in non-destructive testing for welding.
Russian Energy Week will also feature a Rosstandart exhibition space with unique exhibits and models used in oil production and refining and indicators for the quick analysis of automotive fuel.
The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS chairship and organizes the Russian Energy Week International Forum.
