BRICS Communications Ministers to Meet in Tatarstan

The 10th BRICS Communications Ministers’ Meeting and Digital BRICS Forum will be held in Innopolis (Tatarstan) on 26–27 September. Both events are being held as part of Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024.

The theme of the BRICS Communications Ministers’ Meeting is ‘Sovereignty vs. Interconnectivity: Finding a Balance’. Participants will consider the development and expansion of cooperation on digital economy, information, and communication technologies within BRICS. The meeting will wrap up with a declaration of key principles, common approaches, and areas for cooperation on AI technologies, joint development and mutual recognition of digital capabilities, and equal access to digital infrastructure.

Participants of the Digital BRICS Forum will discuss the application of AI technologies and the development of digital capabilities and digital infrastructure. The event will be attended by government and business representatives, experts on digitalization, and members of the educational community.

An exhibition of high-tech companies, including the residents of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, will be held at the Popov Technopark during the Forum.

The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS Chairship.
